Winter Park, Colorado receives over 350″ of snow each year, while Berthoud Pass just up the road receives nearly 500″ of snow rivaling the epic snowfall of Alta, Utah in Little Cottonwood Canyon. The history of alpine sports at Winter Park began in the 1920′s, but didn’t officially start until the 1st J-Bar was installed in 1939 after the recent completion of the Moffat Tunnel.
I first skied Winter Park / Mary Jane in 1980 and have enjoyed skiing and snowboarding there for the past 30 years. About 5 years ago a fellow ski bum and long time friend and I purchased a condominium at Meadowridge, located in Fraser, Colorado. We love it there and have enjoyed many snowy holidays, numerous rafting trips, endless mountain biking and hiking and continual adventures in the area. This end unit is ideally located in a quiet and peaceful location along a wooded backdrop and is directly across the street from the Meadowridge Clubhouse and bus stop for the free Winter Park shuttle.
Located just five miles from the Winter Park, Mary Jane Ski Resort and top rated Pole Creek Golf Course and 600 miles of superb mountain biking and hiking right out your front door (see the guest book in the condominium for powder stashes, secret trails, and other local information). Ski train from Denver to Winter Park is available with Free Shuttle from the Train Depot to Meadowridge.
